Conditions of Supply
Terms of Engagement
Review, quotation, turnaround, payment and liability — the terms a request is handled under.
What Is Governed
These terms reach every request made through cmmcalibrationmilwaukee.com, every quotation issued for it, and the CMM Calibration and Repair and related work performed under it. Acceptance follows from submitting a request or from accepting a quotation. Where a signed supply agreement or agreed purchase-order terms already exist, those terms take precedence to the extent of any conflict.

Review of Requests, Tenders and Contracts
Review comes before quotation, on every request. What it confirms is that the requirement is stated clearly and understood, that the method, range and measurement capability needed are available, and that the laboratory selected to carry out the work is competent to perform it.
Where a statement of conformity is required, two things are settled in writing before work begins: the decision rule to be applied, and the specification the item is to be assessed against. Where a requirement changes after acceptance, the review is repeated and the change confirmed to the customer before work continues. Where a request cannot be met as specified it is declined, or returned with an alternative scope, and it is never accepted and quietly reduced.
External Providers and Payment
What is described on this site is technical work that is externally provided. Milwaukee CMM Calibration and Repair operates cmmcalibrationmilwaukee.com as a marketing and referral website; it is not itself a calibration laboratory and does not perform the measurements that are described here. The laboratories that receive requests submitted through this site hold their own accreditation, operate their own quality management systems, and issue their own certificates and reports.
The criteria an external provider is selected against are these: current accreditation and the scope of it, demonstrated capability for the specific measurement requested, traceability arrangements, and record of on-time delivery. Performance is monitored on an ongoing basis, and a provider that ceases to meet the criteria is not used. Where a customer specifies that work must not be subcontracted, that instruction is honored — otherwise the request is declined.
That introduction is paid for. The operator of this website receives a referral fee, a fixed fee for the use of this website, or a commission on work that is placed, and it is stated plainly so that the commercial relationship behind the site is not left implicit. The price quoted does not change, and the payment gives the operator no role in performing, approving or certifying any measurement.
Quotations
Each quotation is issued in writing and stays valid for thirty (30) days from the date of issue, unless it states otherwise. What goes into it is the item description, the quantity, the measurement points, the tolerances, and the turnaround given with the request.
If the item on arrival is not the item described — extra channels, a wider range, damage, or a condition that needs repair before measurement can happen — the work pauses for a revised quotation, and resumes only once that revision is approved in writing.
Turnaround Times
Turnaround appears on the quotation in business days, and the clock starts on receipt of the item or receipt of written approval to proceed, whichever is later. Where capacity allows, expedited handling is available, quoted separately. Commitments are made in good faith against current capacity, and where one cannot be met, notice follows as soon as the delay is known — with a revised date.
Items, Handling and Risk
Two things travel with an item: packaging adequate for transit, and whatever accessories, fixtures, cables or software are needed to complete the work. The customer carries transit risk in both directions unless carriage has been arranged and charged on the quotation.
Where an item is unsafe, contaminated, or outside the condition accepted at review, it is returned unworked and the reason is stated. Once the collection or despatch period agreed on the quotation has passed, completed items are held at the customer's risk.
Payment and Invoicing
Where no credit account has been approved in advance, payment in full comes before certificates and items are released. Approved credit terms instead make invoices payable net thirty (30) days from the date of invoice.
The quoted price excludes taxes, duties and carriage unless the quotation says otherwise. Overdue balances may carry interest at the lower of one and one-half percent (1.5%) per month or the maximum permitted by law, and work in progress may be suspended while an account is overdue.
Certificates, Reports and Their Use
Certificates and reports are issued by the laboratory performing the work, and they remain that laboratory's technical record. Once paid in full, the customer gains an unrestricted right to keep, copy and use the certificate for its own quality, audit and regulatory purposes.
A certificate is a complete document, reproducible only in full; partial reproduction needs written approval. The performing laboratory retains copies for the period set out in its records policy and reissues against the original certificate number.
Confidentiality of the Engagement
Whatever is obtained or created in the course of a request is held in confidence. That includes drawings, specifications, tolerances, measurement results, and the fact that the engagement exists at all. Personnel and providers who need the information to complete the work receive it; so does a body to which the law requires disclosure, and an accreditation body exercising its rights of access. The customer is notified of a legally required disclosure unless the notification is itself prohibited.
Liability and Remedies
Work is carried out with reasonable skill and care and in accordance with the methods and standards stated on the quotation and on the resulting certificate. Should work be shown to be defective, the remedy is re-performance of the affected work or a refund of the amount paid for it, and the choice between them is the customer's.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, total liability arising out of any engagement is limited to the amount paid for the work giving rise to the claim. Loss of profit, loss of production, loss of contract and any indirect or consequential loss are not recoverable. Liability that cannot be limited by law remains unaffected by these terms.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Wisconsin, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, and any claim is brought in the courts of that jurisdiction unless a different forum has been agreed in writing.
These terms may be revised. The version published at cmmcalibrationmilwaukee.com on the date a quotation is issued is the version that applies to that engagement. Related terms are set out in the privacy policy, the disclaimer notice and the complaints policy.
